Management of COVID-19

As a key supplier of food, we have continued to operate since the initial lockdown in March. The majority of our employees are key workers and have continued to operate in our factories, mills and throughout our distribution network.

Since March 2020, in order to manage the coronavirus outbreak within our facilities,

we have assessed the risk from coronavirus in the form of detailed risk assessments for each of our facilities.  The results of the risk assessments have allowed us to put in place control measures to manage the virus, and to ensure that we can continue to operate.

Following the publication of the government guidance in May 2020, we have reviewed our risk assessments in line with government requirements. During this process we have consulted our employees through briefings and through our EHS committees, to ensure that the requirements of the guidance can be met, and that the controls measures we have in place are fit for purpose.

The results of the risk assessments have been summarised for all employees to view and have been displayed on notice boards along with the declaration of compliance to demonstrate that we have completed the review of the COVID-19 risk assessments.  We can confirm:

  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance
  • We have taken all reasonable steps to help people work from home
  • We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the workplace
  • Where people cannot be more than 2m apart, we have done everything practical to manage transmission risk

The risk assessments are live documents and are subject to change following changes in government advice, an increase in the transmission rate within the company, feedback from employees, and the continual monitoring of control measures we have employed.

We continue to monitor the COVID -19 situation closely and have the resources and the autonomy to adjust our strategy in light of receiving new government guidance, or as a result of a developing situation within the group.

The detailed risk assessments are available to view via specific request by regulatory authorities should this be required. Should you have any queries in relation to measures that we have employed across our facilities, in the first instance please send an email to HSEAlerts@noblefoods.co.uk
