Managing Director Consumer Foods Division

The Managing Director of Consumer Foods is responsible for providing leading and managing the division working with the senior leadership team, operational board and the group board.  The Managing Director is responsible for developing and executing a strategy for the division which is geared to deliver growth in profits, brand value and increased shareholder return.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers high quality business strategies and plans for the division ensuring their alignment with the group short-term and long-term objectives
  • Ensures the division achieves and surpasses business goals and objectives
  • Establishes credibility throughout the business and with the operational and group boards as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Leads the division with a high level of professionalism, integrity and business ethics.
  • Leads and motivates the management team to advance employee engagement and to develop a high performing managerial team ensuring the mission and core values of the Company are in practice.
  • Fosters a human, success-oriented, accountable environment within the division
  • Oversees all divisional operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall group strategy and mission
  • Takes overall responsibility for achieving, monitoring and reporting on performance against all areas of the division.
  • Responsible for the delivery of capital investment projects
  • Enforces adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
  • Responsible for the overall Health and Safety of the division including:
  • Ensuring employees are trained in aspects of Health and Safety
  • Ensuring the Company’s Health and Safety Policy is adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring internal and external Health and Safety targets are met
  • Maintains a deep knowledge of the egg market, retail market and UK farming.
  • Appraises the group board of business progress and challenges.
  • Represents the Company with customers, producers and with industry bodies.

You:

  • For this role we are looking for candidates with Managing Director experience in a Food/Manufacturing/Retail environment.  This would include:
  • Experience of brand / own label / commodity businesses
  • Significant experience and track record in developing and successfully delivering business plans and strategies
  • Experience of financial management including forecasting, budget setting and monitoring.
  • Experience of strong working relationships with UK retailers
  • Experience of representing the Company at a senior level with key stakeholders including retailers, government and industry bodies.

The role:

• Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines Identify areas of inefficiency and waste

• Work closely with the production operatives to develop a dynamic and positive attitude to the challenges of a busy production department
• Assist the Shift Manager in focusing on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the business, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
• Follow production plans, as instructed by the Production Planners, to satisfy customer service levels, maximise productivity and minimise waste
• Ensure that all product specifications are followed by the production team. Ensure that egg-type, packaging, and labels are always correct
• Identify and develop potential within the team, and work closely with the Shift Manager in ensuring the correct training and support is given
• Foster a constructive working relationship with all departments and ensure lines of communication are open

Where you come in as a Production Operative… This part of the factory is where you will be packing the eggs carefully into boxes to be shipped off to their destination. They travel down the conveyor belt already in the cartons. You would be checking on the produce. The packaging is created as you go, making this a fast pace role. Once the eggs are boxed, they will be collected and taken to the next step within the warehouse. Fast paced environment.

Physical: The production process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 16 kilos. The bedend process requires repetitive bending. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness and should report any conditions that may be aggravated by the required activities.

Requirements: Driver with own vehicle – (non-drivers to be located within a 5-mile radius) Team Oriented and a great work drive.
