Working as part of the Transport Team undertaking the following duties:

  • Follow all signs, rules and standards when on the property of suppliers/customers
  • Notify the Transport management team of any damage or defects on vehicles
  • Protect the value and integrity of product through attentive driving and correct storage (secure and chilled where appropriate)
  • Ensure that he/she is ready to commence work at the defined start-time and that ongoing issues are properly passed over to the oncoming administrator at the end of a shift.
  • Concur with the company dress-code at all times, including the wearing of safety-shoes (and hairnets when in the factory).
  • Foster a constructive relationship with all departments and ensure lines of communication are open.
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be prepared to work in different areas of the department as required.
  • Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is  completed. Report any concerns to the relevant line manager
  • The operation is committed to being “audit-ready” at all times. Therefore it is imperative that site hygiene, health & safety, and document control are all in line with customer specifications at all times.
  • Maintain a respectful and constructive working relationship with colleagues and managers.
  • If  required on occasions provide assistance within other areas of the business such as loading / unloading vehicles, shunting, gritting and so on.

The Candidate:

You will have extensive driving experience, preferably within the food industry and as minimum must hold a C + E HGV licence and ideally a current driver CPC

Production Operatives

We are currently recruiting Packaging Operatives on all shifts at our Packing Centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire,  who will report into the Production Team Leaders. Each Operative will be required to support the Team Leader with general day to day running of the Production department and work on a shift pattern basis.

 Role Responsibilities

As part of this role the candidate will be required to complete:

  • Support the Team Leader to achieve excellent service levels.
  • Under instruction from the Machine Controller/ Relief Shift Manager work with fellow colleagues to achieve production targets and maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure they are ready to commence work at the defined start-time and prepared to work in any area of the operation.
  • Ensure that product is rotated to minimise waste
  • Carefully follow the hygiene plan, as outlined by the Machine Controller/ Relief Shift Manager, to ensure that both routine and periodic deep cleansing activities are completed to schedule and to the required standards.
  • Carry out duties and tasks within the grading process as instructed
  • Attend any necessary training required for the role
  • Work in any area within the production process as required

Production Shift Manager

We require Production Shift Manager to join our team, The role is a key support role to the Packing Centre’s management team. You will be required to work a late shift pattern working 40.5 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the General Manager, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
  • Actively control the rotation and allocation of egg from the Ungraded Warehouse to optimise efficiency and reduce waste
  • Working closely with the engineering team, agree and implement improvements to the process to maximise machine productivity, minimise down-time and ensure that hygiene operations do not impact negatively on machinery
  • Plan production runs to minimise waste, maximise product life, meet customer dispatch times, and achieve the best possible throughput
  • Work in conjunction with central / QA teams to implement legislative changes / management system updates
  • Communicate new promotional activity to the team, and plan ahead to anticipate future demands on the production process
  • Conduct regular team briefs with direct reports
  • Operate the department within the agreed headcount to achieve the salary budget
  • Conduct performance reviews of the production team, and report feedback to the Site Director
  • Follow the company’s disciplinary procedures and conduct performance/disciplinary counselling where appropriate
  • Identify and develop potential within the team, and coordinate the relevant training and support required

We require a Production Planner to join our team, The role is a key support role to the Packing Centre’s production management team.

You will be required to work on a continental day shift pattern.

Role Responsibilities

As part of this role the candidate will be required to:

  • Collate and report the day’s orders (entering stock & sales)
  • Report Packing Centre information to central operations
  • Ensure the production team has the information they require to plan production
  • Ensure ungraded is in place to achieve sales and model intakes/usages going forward
  • Control promotional planning within the packing centre
  • Coordinate inter-packing centre packing/transfers to achieve business objectives
  • Focus on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the Production Shift Manager, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
  • Assist Machine Controllers in planning production runs to minimise waste, maximise product life, meet customer dispatch times, and achieve the best possible throughput (taking into account any relevant production constraints)
  • Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is completed
  • Ensure production reporting and admin — as identified by the Production Shift Manager — is complete, up-to-date, and accurate

We require a QA Technician to join our QA team. The role is a key support role to the Packing Centre’s production management team.  We require candidates for C (Late) shift pattern & A (continental day) shift pattern.

Role Responsibilities

  • Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines at all times
  • Play an active part of the wider team, interacting with production managers, line leaders and operatives with the aim of ensuring all products meet the standards expected by customers
  • Ensure that relevant quality documentation and databases are updated and maintained
  • Conduct periodic audits in line with planned assessments, to include but not limited to glass audits, GMP audits, traceability and mass balances
  • Assist with the training of new Quality Assurance Operatives to ensure that a consistent approach to quality analysis and technical adherence is achieved across all shifts
  • Ensure that environmental standards adhered to through robust and challenging audits
  • Challenge the audit style and outcomes to assist in continuous improvement of systems
  • Assist in the preparation of the site for customer, external and third party audits and work with the production team to ensure the site is audit ready at all times
  • Collect samples for any external analysis required, e.g. microbiological testing, ensuring all schedules are adhered to
  • Investigate non conformances and complaints as required, delivering a root cause analysis of the problem
  • Monitor and report non conformances where deviation from customer standards and the company quality management system has occurred The ideal candidates will posses the following skills and capabilities:

We have a world-class free range egg packing centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire, where we employ industry leading robotics and intelligent manufacturing systems.

We currently require a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

It is the jobholder’s responsibility to ensure that company and customer quality standards in terms of product, food safety, legality and hygiene are achieved and maintained at all times across the site. The following is a list of core responsibilities to be completed by the jobholder. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines
  • Organise, through the shift QC Team Leader, the QC technicians to ensure that planned duties, checks and tests are conducted on time
  • Monitor and report non-conformances with customer and company standards (product quality, packaging, food safety, legality, hygiene, documentation, traceability, best practice and dress-code)
  • Ensure that relevant QC documentation and databases are updated and maintained
  • Ensure that environmental standards and laws are adhered to
  • Assist in any External Technical audits carried out on site
  • Focus on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the General Manager, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
  • Focus on being on the shop floor 80% of time, looking for any potential problems, i.e. Finished product pallets are labelled correctly, shippers ID cards in place & correct, hygiene cleaning is to satisfactory level
  • Monitor site and make sure it’s committed to being “audit-ready” at all times. Therefore it is imperative that site hygiene, health & safety and document control are all in line with customer specifications at all times. Ideally the jobholder needs to have the following:

Training & Education:

  • Good background education
  • Experience, and have undertaken further education, in a relevant subject (eg Food Production)
  • Knowledge of BRC standard
  • An understanding of the regulations concerning the production and/or processing of food
  • Ideally the jobholder will have some “hands-on” experience in food production
