As a Production Operative, you`ll work in a cutting-edge packing centre where you`ll help us get thousands of eggs (or other foods) to customers nationwide. Where you come in as a Production Operative… This part of the factory is where you will be packing the eggs carefully into boxes to be shipped off to their destination. They travel down the conveyor belt already in the cartons. You would be checking on the produce. The packaging is created as you go, making this a fast pace role. Once the eggs are boxed, they will be collected and taken to the next step within the warehouse. Fast paced environment.

Physical: The production process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 16 kilos. The bedend process requires repetitive bending. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness and should report any conditions that may be aggravated by the required activities.

Requirements: Driver with own vehicle – (non-drivers to be located within a 5-mile radius) Team Oriented and a great work drive.

Engineer (Days & Nights)

Based in our Packing Centre in Standlake and reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be part of a team ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving predominately mechanical and electrical breakdowns, delivering maintenance and driving improvements

The role:

  • To carry out PPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a pro-active approach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone and/or as part of a team
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance
  • Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work
  • Ensure Engineering time is managed effectively and that that there is low Engineering down-time

You:

  • Strong engineering experience
  • Hands on ability. This is not a theoretical engineering role
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to ONC, NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical or mechanical subject or a Nationally recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline

Quality Assurance Technician

Based out of our Packing Centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire we are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician reporting into the QA Manager.

Full time working 2 shifts.

Week 1: Sat & Sun 06:00-18:00, Wed & Thurs 06:00 – 17:30

Week 2: Mon, Tues & Fri 06:00 – 16:30.

Hourly rate: £9.75/hour

The Role: 

The following is a list of core responsibilities to be completed by the jobholder. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines as outlined above
  • Work with QC Manager and other team members to ensure that planned duties, checks and tests are conducted on time
  • Monitor and report non-conformances with customer and company standards (product quality, packaging, food safety, hygiene, documentation, traceability, best practice and dress-code)
  • Ensure that relevant quality documentation and databases are updated and maintained
  • Ensure that environmental standards and laws are adhered to
  • Conduct periodic audits in line with planned assessments
  • Assist with the training of new Quality Control Technicians
  • Ensure that he/she is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to the line manager/team leader
  • Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is completed. Report any concerns to the relevant line manager
  • The site is committed to being “audit-ready” at all times. Therefore it is imperative that site hygiene, health & safety, and document control are all in line with customer specifications at all times
  • Maintain a respectful and constructive working relationship with colleagues and managers

The Candidate:

The process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 14 kilos. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness.

Training and Education:

Ideally the jobholder will have experience in a similar role and have undertaken further education in a relevant subject (Food Production) etc, as well as a good background education.  He/She must have an understanding of the regulations concerning the production and/or processing of food.  Ideally the jobholder will have some “hands-on” experience in food production.  Good organisational and analytical skills are essential. Computer literacy is also an important requirement.

The following Qualifications/Skills would be appropriate to the role and if not already achieved become part of the development programme:

Quality Assurance Manager

Based out of our Packing Centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire, we are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the company and customer quality standards in terms of product, food safety, legality and hygiene are achieved and maintained at all times across the site.

The Role: 

The following is a list of core responsibilities:

  • Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines
  • Organise, the QC technician teams to ensure that planned duties, checks and tests are conducted on time and in full across 3 shifts
  • Monitor and report non-conformances with customer and company standards (product quality, packaging, food safety, legality, hygiene, documentation, traceability, best practice and dress-code)
  • Ensure that relevant QC documentation and databases are updated and maintained
  • Ensure that pest control and environmental standards and laws are adhered to
  • Manage the Internal audits schedule in line with planned assessments
  • Assist and support in any External Technical audits carried out on site
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new Quality Control Technicians, along with the monitoring and reviewing of all QC Technicians. Identify opportunities for growth and development within the QC Team.
  • Ensure that company standards are adhered to, while working within the company’s disciplinary procedures. Conduct performance/disciplinary counselling where appropriate
  • Focus on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the Business, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
  • Foster a constructive relationship with all departments and ensure lines of communication are open through daily ‘Huddles’ meetings
  • Ensure that he/she is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • Focus on being on the shop floor 80% of time, looking for any potential problems, i.e. finished product pallets are labelled correctly, shippers ID cards in place & correct, hygiene cleaning is to satisfactory level
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to the line manager/team leader
  • Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is completed. Report any concerns to the relevant line manager

  • Plan & Cover where necessary any QC technicians holidays or absences
  • Coach, Mentor and Foster a Food Safety Culture across the business

The Candidate:

Ideally the jobholder needs to have experience within the food industry and have undertaken further education in a relevant subject (Food Production) etc, or be suitably experience to undertake the role.  He/She must have an understanding of the regulations, concerning the production and/or processing of food.  Ideally the jobholder will have some “hands-on” experience in food production and an understanding of third-party certification system, retail policies and codes of practice.  Good organisational skills are essential. Computer literacy is also an important requirement.

Warehouse Operative (Nights)

Based out of our Packing Centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire we are looking for a Warehouse Operative reporting into the Warehouse Manger.

Full time working 4 on 4 off, 17.00 – 0.500

Hourly rate: £9.75/hour increasing to £10.05 after probation.

The Role: 

The following is a list of core responsibilities to be completed by the jobholder. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines as outlined above
  • Work with the Ungraded Manager and other operatives to ensure that product is received correctly and is ready for receipt by production, when required
  • Ensure product is loaded with the correct paperwork and the correct procedures are followed in that process
  • Ensure that warehouse organisation is adhered to (walkways, product zones etc.)
  • Ensure the warehouse presentation standards are maintained
  • Ensure pre start checks are complete, up-to-date, and accurate
  • Ensure the company absence procedures are followed
  • Ensure that product is rotated to minimise waste
  • Ensure that one is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • The jobholder should be open to working in different areas within the site as required
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to the line manager/team leader
  • Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is completed. Report any concerns to the relevant line manager

The jobholder may be expected to complete training in the following areas. The requirements will be dependent on the jobholder’s previous experience, knowledge, qualifications, and the demands of the specific activities.
