Due to growth, we are currently recruiting a number of Engineers.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be part of a team ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving predominately mechanical and electrical breakdowns, delivering maintenance and driving improvements

The role:

  • To carry out PPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a pro-active approach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone and/or as part of a team
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance
  • Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work
  • Ensure Engineering time is managed effectively and that that there is low Engineering down-time

You:

  • Engineering experience (combination of mechanical and electrical) in production automation, packaging, brewing, food, pharmaceutical, automotive.
  • Hands on ability. This is not a theoretical engineering role.
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to ONC, NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical or mechanical subject or a Nationally recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with 2-3 years experience.

Working within a chilled environment, we have opportunities to work within our butchery department where poultry products are cut, trimmed, weighed and packed.

The starting pay rate is £9.22 per hour with an attendance and retention bonus of £30 per week. When trained on a cutting task a butchery bonus is also paid which is on average £40 per week. The pay increases when skills are obtained up to a maximum of £28,438 per year.

Where you come in as a Production Operative… This part of the factory is where you will be packing the eggs carefully into boxes to be shipped off to their destination. They travel down the conveyor belt already in the cartons. You would be checking on the produce. The packaging is created as you go, making this a fast pace role. Once the eggs are boxed, they will be collected and taken to the next step within the warehouse. Fast paced environment.

Physical: The production process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 16 kilos. The bedend process requires repetitive bending. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. Packaging Operative

Based in our packing centre in North Scarle, the following is a list of core responsibilities for the role of Packaging Operative:

  • Work with the team leader and other operatives to achieve excellent service levels to the production department
  • Ensure that all packaging lines are safely stored in the correct area of the warehouse
  • Ensure the warehouse presentation standards are maintained, and that the recycling of waste packaging is completed at regular intervals throughout the work shift
  • Vehicles: Load/unload packaging as required
  • Count and record stock levels where appropriate
  • Ensure that one is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be open to working in different areas within the packaging process as required
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to the Packaging Manager/team leader

Engineering Manager

Based in our Poultry processing plant in Gainsborough and reporting into the Operations Director the successful applicant will be responsible for all engineering and maintenance activities carried out on the site.

Duties will include ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained in a timely and efficient manner, establishing priorities and directing and co-ordinating all of the engineering activities on site. This includes any external contractor activities carried out on the site.

The jobholder will be responsible for the Engineering team on site which includes a Maintenance Controller, an Engineering Team Leader, a Reliability Technician, a Mechanic, an Administrator and a team of 6 Engineers, working across 3 three shifts, who respond to production breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance, maintain the effluent plant, prioritise fault finding and carry out general repairs.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate controls for budgets, cost, health and safety and environmental requirements.

Previous management experience, a good general education, City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering together with a sound knowledge of mechanical systems are essential for this position.

Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable. The successful applicant will also have excellent interpersonal skills and will be computer literate.

Mill Operative

We are looking to recruit a Mill Operative to support our established, friendly team at our Belle Eau Park Mill.

Our fantastic team are ensuring that animal feed is manufactured to the correct specification, using the correct feed additives, in accordance with the planned production schedule and in compliance with industry codes of practice. They control the blending process to produce animal feed in meal form for despatch or meal for pelleting then despatch according to planned production schedules and product specification.

The lives of millions of animals are reliant on us maintaining their food supply. These animals are doing their bit to ensure that we have a continual supply of eggs and meat in the UK food chain.

As we are an integral part of the food chain our employees are classed as “Essential Workers” and we have therefore operated in full throughout the pandemic.

Shifts are based on 4 on 4 off, 12 hours a day, rotating both day and nights. An additional £1 per hour premium is paid for hours completed between 8pm and 6am.

Starting Rate is £23,074 rising to £24,289 location allowance on successful completion of probation. Another 1% increase has been agreed for October 2021.

We are recruiting for a Hygiene Manager Nights (Mon-Fri – 7pm – 3am) to join our team in North Scarle.

As Hygiene Manager you’ll be responsible for leading the Hygiene function within this key food facility, ensuring the highest standards of Hygiene are delivered and exceed customer expectations.

You’ll undertake a key role within our business, Main duties will include:

Providing overall leadership and direction to the hygiene community by ensuring people are engaged focused and work to their potential.

Working closely with the site leadership team, you’ll ensure the wider Hygiene team have the necessary training plans and support in place to support their ongoing development and the needs of the business.

You will take the lead to support with any visits or audits that take place on site.

The successful candidate will focus on monitoring and reviewing the performance of the overall manufacturing unit’s hygiene team ensuring the highest of standards are adhered to at all time, in addition to identifying areas of improvement.

Responsibility for the preparation and management of the hygiene budget, related Capex and also maintenance of 3rd party contracts, so you’ll need to have strong negotiating skills and good attention to detail.

You’ll have a good track record of delivering success in a hygiene management role within a FMCG environment. Experience of managing a team at this level is essential.

Of degree calibre, you’ll have knowledge of the principles of chilled food manufacturing in high risk, low risk and low care. Food Hygiene and HACCP qualifications at Level 4, alongside awareness around auditing, pest control and allergen awareness.

Warehouse Manager

You will be running the day to day of a busy warehouse and packing centre  in North Scarle, looking after a team of around 10 (and growing!) As a Warehouse Manager you will understand the importance to work in sync with various departments and the focus on identifying potential in individuals and developing them. Experience, and a very good understanding of a warehouse – MRP system is essential to be successful for this role.

Reporting to the site Technical Manager the Quality Assurance Manager will play a key role in delivering technical and quality assurance across the site.

The role:

  • Every individual has a responsibility for Health & Safety. The jobholder must ensure that his/her actions do not put oneself and others at risk. Must co-operate fully with the company in respect to Health & Safety.
  • Organise the QC Technician teams to ensure that planned duties, checks and tests are conducted on time and in full across 3 shifts.
  • Monitor and report non-conformances with customer and company standards (product quality, packaging, food safety, hygiene, documentation, traceability, best practice and dress-code).
  • Ensure that relevant QC documentation and databases are updated and maintained.
  • Ensure that pest control and environmental standards and laws are adhered to.
  • Manage the internal audits schedule in line with planned assessments.
  • Assist and support in any external technical audits carried out on site.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new Quality Control Technicians, along with the monitoring and reviewing of all QC Technicians. Identify opportunities for growth and development within the QC team.
  • Focus on the key performance indicators (KPI’s) identified by the business and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets.

Job purpose

Reporting to the Marketing & Innovation Director, this role is responsible for overseeing external corporate messaging to protect and enhance Noble’s external corporate reputation amongst key stakeholder groups.

Key responsibilities:-

  • Develop the Noble Foods corporate PR strategy with the support of the marketing director
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify an on-going calendar of proactive positive PR messaging throughout the year, aligned to this strategy

About You:-

  • 5-7 years minimum experience in corporate PR or external affairs

  • Clear, confident communicator who can understand complex issues and present them simply
  • Able to build strong, enduring, effective stakeholder relationships
