Once the eggs are boxed, they will be collected and taken to the next step within the warehouse. Fast paced environment.

Physical: The production process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 16 kilos. The bedend process requires repetitive bending. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness and should report any conditions that may be aggravated by the required activities.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be part of a team ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving predominately mechanical and electrical breakdowns, delivering maintenance and driving improvements

The role:

  • To carry out PPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a pro-active approach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone and/or as part of a team
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance
  • Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work
  • Ensure Engineering time is managed effectively and that that there is low Engineering down-time

You:

  • Engineering experience (combination of mechanical and electrical) in production automation, packaging, brewing, food, pharmaceutical, automotive.
  • Hands on ability. This is not a theoretical engineering role.
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to ONC, NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical or mechanical subject or a Nationally recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with 2-3 years experience.

Working within a chilled environment, we have opportunities to work within our butchery department where poultry products are cut, trimmed, weighed and packed.

The starting pay rate is £9.22 per hour with an attendance and retention bonus of £30 per week. When trained on a cutting task a butchery bonus is also paid which is on average £40 per week. The pay increases when skills are obtained up to a maximum of £28,438 per year.

Packaging Operative

Based in our packing centre in North Scarle, the following is a list of core responsibilities for the role of Packaging Operative:

  • Work with the team leader and other operatives to achieve excellent service levels to the production department
  • Ensure that all packaging lines are safely stored in the correct area of the warehouse
  • Ensure the warehouse presentation standards are maintained, and that the recycling of waste packaging is completed at regular intervals throughout the work shift
  • Vehicles: Load/unload packaging as required
  • Count and record stock levels where appropriate
  • Ensure that one is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be open to working in different areas within the packaging process as required

We have a great opportunity in our Poultry business unit based in Gainsborough for someone with experience working in HR and/or payroll who is wanting to develop their career further in HR.

Working in a generalist role reporting into the HR Business Partner the successful applicant will be accountable for:

  • The weekly payroll administration
  • HR administration across the employee lifecycle
  • General administration

  • Organising external training courses

Engineering Manager

Based in our Poultry processing plant in Gainsborough and reporting into the Operations Director the successful applicant will be responsible for all engineering and maintenance activities carried out on the site.

Duties will include ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained in a timely and efficient manner, establishing priorities and directing and co-ordinating all of the engineering activities on site. This includes any external contractor activities carried out on the site.

The jobholder will be responsible for the Engineering team on site which includes a Maintenance Controller, an Engineering Team Leader, a Reliability Technician, a Mechanic, an Administrator and a team of 6 Engineers, working across 3 three shifts, who respond to production breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance, maintain the effluent plant, prioritise fault finding and carry out general repairs.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate controls for budgets, cost, health and safety and environmental requirements.

Previous management experience, a good general education, City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering together with a sound knowledge of mechanical systems are essential for this position.

Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable. The successful applicant will also have excellent interpersonal skills and will be computer literate.

Based in our Poultry processing plant in Gainsborough and reporting into the Operations Director the successful applicant will be responsible for all Production and Despatch activities and will be able to positively drive, develop and influence the growth of the Poultry Division.

They control the blending process to produce animal feed in meal form for despatch or meal for pelleting then despatch according to planned production schedules and product specification.

As we are an integral part of the food chain our employees are classed as “Essential Workers” and we have therefore operated in full throughout the pandemic.

Shifts are based on 4 on 4 off, 12 hours a day, rotating both day and nights. An additional £1 per hour premium is paid for hours completed between 8pm and 6am.

Starting Rate is £23,074 rising to £24,289 location allowance on successful completion of probation. Another 1% increase has been agreed for October 2021.
