Where you come in as a Production Operative… This part of the factory is where you will be packing the eggs carefully into boxes to be shipped off to their destination. They travel down the conveyor belt already in the cartons. You would be checking on the produce. The packaging is created as you go, making this a fast pace role. Once the eggs are boxed, they will be collected and taken to the next step within the warehouse. Fast paced environment.

Physical: The production process requires manual handling to an estimated maximum of 16 kilos. The bedend process requires repetitive bending. Several areas require the use of manual pallet trucks. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness and should report any conditions that may be aggravated by the required activities.

Requirements: Driver with own vehicle – (non-drivers to be located within a 5-mile radius) Team Oriented and a great work drive.

Based in our Packing Centre in Standlake and reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be part of a team ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving predominately mechanical and electrical breakdowns, delivering maintenance and driving improvements

The role:

  • To carry out PPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a pro-active approach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone and/or as part of a team

Engineering Team leader

Based at our Poultry business unit in Gainsborough and reporting to the Maintenance Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading 3 teams of two Engineers working day shifts and a night shift, who respond to production breakdowns if necessary, carry out planned preventative maintenance on production equipment and site services, prioritise fault finding and carry out general repairs on site.

The successful applicant will establish priorities for the teams and will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance activities are achieved timely and effectively. The job holder will also carry out required maintenance activities, prioritise fault finding and will also be required to carry out general repairs on site.

The normal working week will be based on 40 hours working Monday through to Friday on day shifts. However, the job holder will need to be flexible when required, as the 2 teams of Engineers working day shifts work across 7 days a week and the team of night Engineers work from Sunday night through to Thursday night.

The successful applicant will be qualified in Mechanical Engineering with a good knowledge of Electrical Engineering or qualified in Electrical Engineering with a good knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.

Knowledge of health and safety and previous experience within a poultry production or fast-moving food manufacturing environment will be advantageous.

Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for all engineering and maintenance activities carried out on the site.

Duties will include ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained in a timely and efficient manner, establishing priorities and directing and co-ordinating all of the engineering activities on site. This includes any external contractor activities carried out on the site.

The jobholder will be responsible for the Engineering team on site which includes a Maintenance Controller, an Engineering Team Leader, a Reliability Technician, a Mechanic, an Administrator and a team of 6 Engineers, working across 3 three shifts, who respond to production breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance, maintain the effluent plant, prioritise fault finding and carry out general repairs.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate controls for budgets, cost, health and safety and environmental requirements.

Previous management experience, a good general education, City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering together with a sound knowledge of mechanical systems are essential for this position.

Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable. The successful applicant will also have excellent interpersonal skills and will be computer literate.

Packaging Operative

Based in our packing centre in North Scarle, the following is a list of core responsibilities for the role of Packaging Operative:

  • Work with the team leader and other operatives to achieve excellent service levels to the production department
  • Ensure that all packaging lines are safely stored in the correct area of the warehouse
  • Ensure the warehouse presentation standards are maintained, and that the recycling of waste packaging is completed at regular intervals throughout the work shift
  • Vehicles: Load/unload packaging as required
  • Count and record stock levels where appropriate
  • Ensure that one is ready to commence work at the defined start-time
  • Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be open to working in different areas within the packaging process as required

Warehouse Manager

Based at our Packing Centre in Standlake, Oxfordshire, the Warehouse Manager oversees the receipt, storage and loading of Noble Foods products from Producers and to all major retailers. This is a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 364 day a year perishable goods operation and thus the Warehouse Manager must ensure that the correct finished goods are picked, packed and loaded to meet demanding customer deadlines. The Warehouse Manager is a key member of the site management team and will be expected to contribute outside of their own sphere of responsibility to the effectiveness and success of the site.

  • Graduate-calibre, ideally with a logistics related degree

We are looking to fill a position as an Egg Collector at Walesby Farm, near Ollerton, Nottinghamshire. Walesby houses 33,000 Organic Free Range laying birds in 11 sheds across 37 hectares.

For this position you should be interested in animals and show a flare for caring for birds. You will need to be aware of health and safety and show strong attention to cleanliness and detail. In this role you will work as part of a small team and will need good communication and team working skills to succeed.

Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, although not a necessity and own transport is required due to the location of the farm. Please note that although this is a Monday to Friday role, you will be required to cover occasional weekends.
